The $39 also includes two McKenzie pint glasses; special food ‘n brew pairing suggestions; and two Sunday Passports, packed with deals and discounts.

FALL 2010

Summertime tans and trips to the shore may fade into memories, but we know that the fun doesn’t stop once the leaves change. Here at McKenzie, fall means it’s time for football, unique seasonal brews (like our Oktoberfest lager) and some of our favorite events. On tap: McKenzie-fest and our Annual Golf Outing.

Mark your calendars for Mon., Sept. 20, for our 2nd annual Charity Golf Outing. It’s sure to be a great day of golf and fun, all for a worthy cause-- the money raised will benefit the Chester County Hospital Cancer Program. The event takes place at Broad Run Golfer’s Club in West Chester, beginning with a shotgun start at 12:30 pm. After the tournament, join us at our Chadds Ford restaurant for a dinner buffet and two-hour open bar featuring McKenzie’s award-winning, handcrafted beer. New this year is a Hole in One competition, where participants have the chance to win a Harley Davidson motorcycle. The entry fee is $100 per person; register at either of our McKenzie Brew House locations.

McKenzie-fest
, our annual Oktoberfest-inspired event, will run from Thurs., Sept. 30 to Sun., Oct. 3. Enjoy everything you would expect from an Oktoberfest event-- special festival beers, music and authentic German fare-- all with a unique McKenzie spin. Kicking off the weekend is an Anti-Reinheitsgebot Beer Dinner on Thurs., Sept. 30, at 7 pm at our Malvern location’s outdoor deck and patio. The dinner will feature several courses of Oktoberfest fare, each complemented by a German-influenced beer made with non-traditional ingredients. Just $39 per person.

See you this Fall!

SUMMER 2010

Balmy weather brings people outdoors and dining al fresco becomes a favorite nightly ritual. At McKenzie Brew House, take a seat on our spacious deck and patio to enjoy the laid-back atmosphere. Our outdoor oasis at McKenzie Malvern features a stone fireplace, serene fountain, flowering arbor and full bar. Whatever you’d like from our extensive menu can be served to you outside. Stop by Malvern for live music on the deck on Thursday (8-11pm) and Friday nights (9-12pm).

Great news! In mid-July, McKenzie Chadds Ford opens its new patio and expanded deck with décor that’s very similar to our Malvern locale. On Friday nights, enjoy live music with dinner and drinks . As part of the new addition’s Grand Opening, we will host a special Happy Hour on Thursday, July 29, from 5-8pm. We’ve teamed up with Chester County Cuisine and Nightlife to bring you a fun-filled night of prizes, food, and drinks! Join us for complimentary appetizers and discounted award-winning brews and cocktails. RSVP on Facebook (CC: Chester County Cuisine and Nightlife) or email wcdish@gmail.com.

Need a place to hold your own celebration? A private party on our deck will get your group rocking! Just ask and we’ll set the plans in motion.

Cheers to a memorable summer!

SPRING 2010

Warm weather is here and so are the springtime happenings at McKenzie Brew House! We’ve got Mother’s Day brunch, our annual Karaoke Idol contest, and new brew and salad pairings.

We’re calling local aspiring singers to participate in American Karaoke Idol this April. Kicking off on Thursday, April 8 at both locations starting at 9pm, local karaoke enthusiasts are challenged to belt out their all-time favorite songs for a chance to win a $500 grand prize.

The bonus: audience members are invited to be part of the judging process. Savor beer specials and Karaoke Idol-inspired cocktails including The Kelly (Clarkson); The Carrie (Underwood); and The Adam (Lambert). Grab a front row seat to watch local singing sensations in action!

Spend time with Mom this Mother’s Day, May 9, by heading over to our Malvern or Chadds Ford locations for a relaxing Sunday brunch. Fresh and healthy brunch favorites will be served including belgian waffles, assorted salads and egg dishes. Available from 10:30am – 3pm.

Lastly, this April and May, we are bringing together two of our signature favorites, salads and beer, just in time for outdoor dining. Guests can savor Salad and Brew Duos, a special deal that pairs together our salads with $2 pints of our award-winning ales.

As always, we deliver the freshest ingredients – our new salads feature farm-fresh vegetables, fruits, cheeses, lean meats and fishes, and house-made dressing. And you’ve got Head Brewer Ryan Michaels’ three new seasonal brews to look forward to including a French Country Spring Beer, English-style Old Ale and a German Altbier.

See you this Spring!

HOLIDAY SEASON 2009

Now that the leaves have officially fallen and the Halloween costumes are packed away, it is time to start thinking about the upcoming holiday season. The sites and sounds of the holidays are upon us and I could not be more excited!

The holiday season brings families, friends, and coworkers together. What better way to celebrate than with a party in Metro at Chadds Ford or The Underground Pub in Malvern. Both locations offer affordable and abundant buffet packages. With features such as creamy artichoke dip, cheesy pasta and hot roast beef, you are sure to feel warm and welcome.

What would delicious cuisine be without perfectly paired handcrafted brews? We have plenty of fall and winter favorites including Pumpkin Spiced Ale, Abbey 8, and Pilgrim Ale. There is just something about winter beers that keep you warm as the snow begins to fall. Check out Head Brewmaster Ryan’s blog for more information!

And while I’ve got your mind on our beer, don’t miss our first annual holiday Artisan Brew Basket. This seasonal brew gift features three specialty reserve beers bottled and festively packaged. The gift also includes two McKenzie pint glasses, special food ‘n brew pairing suggestions, and two Sunday Passports, packed with deals and discounts. It’s a great way to spread the holiday cheer this season!

We will also be adding some exciting changes to our entertainment lineup. Join us for an evening of jazz on the first Saturday of every month in Chadds Ford, and the third Saturday of every month in Malvern. There are also some fresh and groovy solos and duos, acoustical performances and other outstanding talent lined up beginning in January. Check back with us soon for an update!

We will be opening the bar on Christmas Day at 8pm as well as operate regular hours on New Years Day.

On behalf of everyone at McKenzie, we wish you a safe and joyous holiday season!

FALL SEASON 2009

With the change of weather this week, I realize my Sundays by the pool are coming to an end. But still, cooler temperatures and the arrival of our first Sunday with the NFL ticket reminds me that fall has its own perks.

As a die-hard Eagles fan who is not always able to go to a game, I enjoy the crowd that gathers at our bar for all the NFL action. Most recently we upgraded to high definition television, so the experience is even more enjoyable for me. Our new “Tailgate Menu” features all the football favorites and discounts on our handcrafted brews. For me, nothing is better to have during a game than a Philly cheesesteak and fresh from the tap beer!

Speaking of beer, I always look forward to Brewmaster Ryan’s festive fall brews. This year in honor of Oktoberfest, the infamous German beer festival, our chef’s are putting their spin on Bavarian cuisine for our “McKenzie Fest.” I can already taste the delectable pairing of our Pumpkin Spiced Ale and Oktoberfest Lager with our Brats and Schnitzel.

Summer’s end also brings the crowd back from the beach, and Metro is livelier than ever. Every Thursday night DJ Luvitt’s sexy South Beach music keeps the party groovin’ with everyone dancing the night away.

This revelry continues through the weekend and of course we will be having a Halloween Party with a Thriller Theme. More on that later!

Well it’s time for kick off, so LET’S GO EAGLES!
